REACH matters !

Following an invitation to tender from the European Environment DG, the Unit of Chemical Risk Prevention (CNRS, France) has developed a website dedicated to the REACH regulation (Registration, Evaluation and Authorisation of CHemicals).

The REACH regulation

This regulation concerning the manufacture, marketing and use of numerous chemicals came into force on 1 June 2007. It aims at a higher level of protection of human health and the environment by laying down specific obligations on companies, requiring them to communicate more data on substances hazards, to use these data to assess risks and to develop and recommend appropriate risk management measures.

The "REACH matters" Website

A website presenting the REACH regulation, addressed to professional users of chemicals and to people involved in prevention.

The information given in the website is taken from the regulation and from the technical guidance documents intended to help companies to fulfil their obligations. Texts are accompanied with diagrams.

The website is available in 22 languages

Bulgarian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, Estonian, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hungarian, Italian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Maltese, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Slovak, Slovene, Spanish and Swedish.
Tables and diagrams (in English and in French) can be downloaded in PDF format.
