The Chemical Risk Prevention Unit is a service unit of the CNRS Institute of Chemistry (Website in French). It provides a scientific and technical support.
The unit promotes chemical safety and protection of human health against hazardous products. The activities adress the needs of the scientific community, occupational health and safety stakeholder, public bodies, industrial companies and the general public.
Expertise and consulting, performed in an institutional framework or at companies’ request.
Toxicological and physicochemical characterisation.
Assistance in the quest for substitution products or processes.
Analysis of appropriateness of facilities and protective equipment relevance...
This service is available in priority for the CNRS workers and units, but also for any stakeholder, partly within the framework of European actions. The unit also answers the specific needs in terms of communication on the chemical risks (hazards identification, prevention measures, risk management…).
Involvement in academic courses.
Training sessions for chemicals users, risk managers, and occupational physicians from the public and private sectors (levels from awareness to improvement).
Thematic training courses in answer to specific needs.
