The DSD/DPD current system

67/548/CEE and 1999/45/CE Directives

L'ancien système DSD/DPD

On borrowed time : the current european labelling system will be progressively replaced by the new CLP Regulation (Classification, Labelling and Packaging of substances and mixtures) (see the timeline on our CLP page).

Texts of the directives

The directive 67/548/EEC (DSD [1]) and its amendments prescribe the rules for the classification, packaging and labelling of dangerous substances (hazard categories, symbol and indication of danger, risk phrases, S-phrases).

The directive 1999/45/EC (DPD [1]) provides for methods of classification and labelling of dangerous preparations.
